Why Inverter Technology?
Modern day air conditioning systems now use ‘Inverter’ technology, but why?
The main reasons are based on energy savings and the minimal impact on the environment. Inverter driven electrical compressor technology reduces start up by approx 33% and reduces the power input to match the capacity loading.
A standard fixed speed compressor would operate at 100% during its operational cycle, whereas an inverter driven compressor or motor would only operate at the required load, which can account for 90% of its operational cycle. This technology is now available on all systems, from a single split to large multi split systems.
This reduction in power consumption not only helps with climate control and the environment we live in but also reduces your energy bills. This combined with the latest computerised control systems, either stand alone or as part of a BMS system and high COP* (co-efficient of performance), all adds up to cost savings and benefits for you, our customer.
* For a better understanding:-
-
An electric fire uses one kilowatt of power to produce one kilowatt of heat (COP of 1).
-
An inverter air conditioning system uses one kilowatt of power to produce up to four kilowatts of heating / cooling (COP of 4).
